AFAIK, Microsoft releases this spec only to printer makers, and only under NDA. Lexmark didn't design the interface language, Microsoft did. Yes. But how do you explain the fact that the 5000 series (for example) also support OS/2 (which is not Windows). So, there must be a knowledge inside Lexmark to circumvent

Lexmark X1100 series on Citrix ??
My printer lexmark X1100 series all-in-one printer worked on windows xp but ever since I upgraded, it won't let me print anything with it. I downloaded drivers and such through lexmark but no luck, there is always an error. If anyone can please help me, i would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi, I have a Lexmark X1110 printer connected to my USB port in my client pc. Our Citrix server is Metaframe XP on Windows 2000. First I tried to do a "driver mapping" in the Management Console. Driver Mapping first to Lexmark Optra, then Universal driver, then Generic/Text only and then some Canon and HP drivers.

Basically it is a throw away printer. The cost of the ink carts is largely irrelevant because it is unlikely the printer will outlast the first cart. The cost of the single colour ink cart for the three-in-one I had (1100 series) was almost as much as the printer, far more than $54. I wouldn't recommend a Lexmark.

shutdown problem with xp home
Over the years I've had a couple of inkjet printers, starting with a Deskjet 500. All of them had trouble with ink cartridges drying out after a couple of weeks non-use. And with that ink being rediculously expensive, I decided not to bother with inktjets anymore. I had a Laserjet 5L for about 6 years, I think.
